#CITIES SKYLINES HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT MODS#
Some mods on CS like population rebalance really helped in some aspects but couldn’t in others so I hope CS2 has a much bigger focus on realism and simulation. You also had low income housing and could feel like an actual mayor with all your decisions. If unemployment was too high, you’d have homeless living in your parks and the sims wouldn’t visit. If you had casinos you’d get more tourism but crime too. One of the best parts of SC2013 was the simulation aspects.
I also like how with SC they tend to go into more detail with the vanilla assets so I’m hoping we see the same for CS2. It is horrible to have 20% or more unemployment and the game be happy about it. It would be so much easier to figure out where to build and what to build.Īlso, high unemployment mechanics should be in the game. Unemployment per building would be great. It was the only feature I loved from TMPE. It is easier to track down the problematic traffic. I'd rather have a reset traffic button built-in when traffic gets so bad it jams up on it's own. It is annoying to have the AI backup traffic prematurely and have phony backups. It had a nice ebb and flow to the game and looked very realistic. Trash would be picked up in the early AM, then at sunrise everyone went to work, students to school, the evening everyone drove home from work, then nightlife started late night. Simcity 5 (2013) has a great rush hour 24-hour timeline. I just hope they optimized the feel of the game more. This should smooth out the game significantly as it allows much better multi-threading.
They have invested a lot of time into it and it should be significantly more optimized as DX12 became available to Unity a couple years into the game releasing. CS1 was given a pass as it was their first real title as a city builder. They know the game will be more scrutinized than CS1 was. I think the game was planned to release at this time, and it was delayed to get it right. They bought the website a few years ago, which means they had to be at least in alpha stages by then. I'm sure the devs were working on CS2 no more than a year or two after release. Īs I have said here: - this is their dream project, they can't rush it, they have plenty of room to wiggle because of the unexpected success of C:S. So a bit too late for wishlists changing the core of the new project - if it's a good one, all other things will be added with the oncoming DLCs You know, they can't throw everything at us in one goĪnd i guess plenty of those things mentioned in your video will be there too. So, they are at least half way through, Possibly even well past that point. I suppose most of these ideas has already been implemented in their new project in ways that can make it playable on weaker PCs too.Īll assuming that it is "Colossal Cities", or C:S2 they are working on Again, most likely it depends on game engine. And also, hardly anyone has got that good a computer to have a game with all those great wishes implemented in game. While the video is interesting and probably most of the ideas are implementable, I'd say all depends on whatever game engine is gonna be used.
